Pull-away couplings for LPG and NH3 transfer protection

Pull-away couplings are similar to break-away couplings in functionality but demand no additional parts to connect in the case of a pull-away incident. They are especially designed to provide protection from pull-away accidents during Propane/Butane and Ammonia transfers, during loading/unloading at dispensing stations, vehicle fuel container- and other cylindrical filling operations.

Product description

Pull away couplings are safety devices installed in LPG systems to protect from pull away accidents. When experiencing an excessive tension pull of the hose the pull away valves will instantly separate and two internal spring loaded back pressure checks close off the ends; thereby minimising the amount of gas that escapes.

Did you know?

It is recommended that pull-away valves are maintained and safety-tested periodically to confirm that they will separate properly in the event of a pull-away. Lubrication every six months is essential to the pull-away’s operation. Dry nitrogen or other inert gas is suggested as a source of pressure for pull-away tests

    Breakaway couplings

Pull-away accidents are no joke. Break-away couplings prevent the unwanted emissions and spillage that may come as a consequence of a truck or ship pulling away during operation.
